I have an undeniable passion for pregnancy, childbirth, and parenthood. I believe these are some of life’s most wonderful and profound transformations. As a proud mother of two amazing boys, I cherish this process deeply. Soon after my first son was born in 2004, I decided to take part in other women’s journeys. In 2009, my second son was born and today I continue to nurture and ride the gratifying journey of motherhood.
I believe the pregnant body is a stunning shape and decided to combine this admiration with my passion for photography. Since 2005, I have been photographing beautiful pregnant bellies and babies. I also do family portraits and special occasions such as births and Blessingways.
In 2007, I had the powerful opportunity of witnessing many amazing births as a Birth Assistant for Midwives Jennie Joseph and Cathy Rudolph at “The Birth Place” in Winter Garden. The natural and beautiful bonding that takes place between mom and baby through breastfeeding in those first hours awoke in me a new perception in what my role is in other women’s journey. In 2008 I became a Peer Counselor for the Orange County Health Department WIC Program, trained by breastfeeding Guru Cathy Gillespie. Since then, I’ve been assisting mothers in their personal fulfillment of this amazing and nurturing stage of motherhood. In 2009, I became a Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) and currently I’m teaching breastfeeding classes, offering private consultations and advocating for breastfeeding mothers.
I also have a deep appreciation for art. I’ve taught children’s after school art classes in many different Orange County schools. I enjoy expressing my creativity through beautiful body art with mehndi also known as henna. Belly henna designs are a 100% natural way of celebrating pregnancy and honoring your beautiful body. They are typically done during the last trimester of pregnancy as a blessing for both mother and baby.
Recently I decided to expand my services and become a Birth Doula. I feel every woman deserves the opportunity to experience birth as the natural and powerful rite of passage it is. I also believe that every woman's journey into motherhood is unique and sacred. My intention as a Doula is to assist and support you by creating a safe, loving environment for you to open to your own Mother Nature.
